R-TECH Materials was established as R-TECH Services Ltd in 2002, initially to provide independent UKAS accredited testing services for the reinforcing steel sector. With our background expertise in the manufacture and testing of steel products, and with a global reputation in this sector, testing of steel products for structural concrete remains a core part of our business today.
In 2007, R-TECH Consultants Ltd (formerly Metamet Consultants Ltd) was established to provide laboratory based materials investigation services. We now specialise in failure analysis and plant integrity, particularly in the petrochemical, power and process industries. In 2012, both businesses relocated to our current laboratory facilities in Port Talbot, South Wales, when we also launched the R-TECH Materials brand under which both businesses now trade. 2012 was also the year in which we launched our UKAS accredited testing of polymer and composite materials.
R-TECH Materials has consistently invested in its facilities, equipment and people. Today R-TECH Materials has a team of well qualified and experienced engineers, metallurgists, materials scientists and chemists with state-of-the-art equipment, and a growing reputation for reliable materials testing, analysis and consultancy.
The R-TECH Materials team is a world-leading, multi-disciplinary team, built upon academic qualification and real, hands-on industrial experience. Our materials consultants, scientists and engineers work together to provide their collective expertise to our customers’ materials problems, allowing us to add considerable value to their projects. Alongside our commercial interests, each of our professional staff maintains a research and development interest, ensuring that our team are constantly expanding their knowledge and remain on the forefront of materials developments. These professional staff are complemented by an accomplished technician workforce providing high-quality and reliable testing and analysis of materials and products.
